DAWSON’S DIRECTOR, PETER EDWARDS, COMPLETES PICK N’ PAY ARGUS CYCLE TOUR IN AID OF BOB’S FOR GOOD FOUNDATION
After winning an online competition on the Sports 24 website, the Managing Director of Dawson Edwards Attorneys, Peter Edwards, cycled in the Sports for Good / Bob’s for Good cycle team in the recent Pick n’ Pay Cape Argus cycle tour.
The cycle team had a number of celebrities cycling in it, including Bobby Skinstad, Robbie Fleck, Jeremy Harris, Marius Schoeman, Mathew Pearce and Tank Lanning. The goal of the cycle team was to race funds for charity and in particular the Bob’s For Good Foundation which has as one of its main goals the purchasing of shoes/clothing for under privileged children in South Africa.
In support of this worthy cause Dawsons decided to call upon its colleagues, clients and friends to commit a sponsorship towards Peter completing the cycle tour on Sunday, 13 March 2011. An awesome response was received within days just proving the point that South Africans are willing to give to worthy causes.
With some training, the benefit of no South Easter and the encouragement of the pledges given by generous sponsors, Peter completed the cycle tour in 4 hours and 48 mins.
The total sponsorship collected amounted to R30,190.00 which will be handed over to the Bob’s For Good Foundation so that they can continue their fantastic work. For further information on this foundation and the work that it does feel free to go to their website at www.bobsforgoodfoundation.org
In closing we would like to thank all those who pledged the sponsorship for the benefit of the foundation and in particular, Silicon Overdrive, Joram Moyal, The Fire Room, Viking Fishing, Pioneer Fishing, Balobi Fish Processors, The Saldanha Fishing Group, The Meihuizen Group, Trade Ocean Shipping Services, Terrasan Pelagic Fishery, Silvertree Investments, Matthys Lourens Cost Consultants, Komicx Fish Products, Talhado Fishing, Mr. Dimitri Cavvadas , the Irvine family, the Edwards family and Advocate Mike Wragge SC.
